Rukwanzi Country Haven is more than a place to stay-it is a return to stillness, nature, and belonging.
Family-owned and nestled on a working farm just outside Fort Portal City in Kabarole District, within the heart of the Tooro Kingdom, Rukwanzi Country Haven offers a rare balance of countryside calm and refined comfort. After long, soul-filling days exploring nearby wonders-Kibaale National Forest Park, the primate capital of Uganda; Queen Elizabeth National Park; Semuliki National Park; Rwenzori Mountains National Park; the welcoming local community; shimmering crater lakes; and the breathtaking Mahoma Falls-you return not just to rest, but to indulgence.
Known intimately as Rukwanzi, the haven is blessed with sweeping, uninterrupted views of three extraordinary crater lakes-Lake Nyinambuga, proudly immortalised on the Uganda Shillings Twenty Thousand Note, alongsid e Lake Mwamba and Lake Kifuruka. The surrounding area of Kasenda lies within the legendary Tooro crater lake belt-home to over 50 crater lakes, including the serene Lake Rukwanzi nearby.
And then there are the mountains.
From virtually anywhere on the property – even from the comfort of your bed, you are greeted by the awe-inspiring sight of the Rwenzori Mountains, standing tall in their snow-capped majesty. Mornings begin with mist and light. Evenings settle into silence and stars.
Rukwanzi Country Haven features two thoughtfully designed cottages set within the farm itself, where life grows slowly and naturally. Coffee, apples, creamy avocados, fresh fruits, herbs, and vegetables are organically cultivated on the land you walk. Cows and chickens roam freely, and our on-site apiary produces pure, golden honey-served during your stay and ready to travel home with you. Almost every meal you enjoy carries the taste of the soil beneath your feet-fresh, honest, and nourishing.
Here, luxury is not loud. It is felt.
In the quiet.
In the view.
In the food.
In the care.
We are truly honoured to host you and warmly welcome you to a stay that lingers long after you leave-at Rukwanzi Country Haven, in the tourism capital of Uganda.
